Mad Mike Whiddett Unleashes Mad Mac at Goodwood 🤯

Mad Mike, a McLaren P1, and a 1,000hp rotary engine walk into a bar…

Such is the story of the creation of ‘MadMac’ - a fire-breathing, three-rotor, 20B billet engine housed inside a McLaren P1.

To add to the insanity, ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett set the challenge of getting this build together in just 100 days, with the 2024 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed earmarked as the ultimate unveiling.

Cooling proved to be an integral part of this unique build, and the PWR team joined heads with Mike as they brainstormed what could be done in order to keep temps cool in his beast…

The job was challenging, but with a custom billet elite 3000 water-to-air intercooler, a bespoke radiator, an engine oil cooler, and a gearbox cooler, our team successfully fitted Mike out with the required cooling components.

MadMac entered British territory and headed to Goodwood, where Mike removed the covers to the cheers and adulation of the thousands who were in attendance across the iconic weekend.

“MadMac has been the biggest challenge I have set myself in terms of builds. It was a huge effort by all our involved partners!” - Mad Mike.

We’re thrilled to have assisted Mike with his build, and can work with all our customers to create their unique custom build for any project.
