Kyle Chaney has been a mainstay in off-road competition for over a decade, racing to a resume full of UTV championships all across the United States. Racing in extreme temperatures and pushing his vehicles to the limit, it’s vital for Kyle’s machines to keep cool so he can focus on the job at hand behind the wheel.
Get to know Kyle via our latest ‘PROFILED’ feature.

Kyle, thank you for taking the time to catch up with us! To get readers up to speed, tell us a bit about yourself.
Sure thing! My name is Kyle Chaney, and I currently compete in SXS and Pro 4 off-road racing. Racing began for me at 12 years old on dirt bikes, and I then made the shift to SXS in 2011. We’ve been fortunate to accomplish a lot in that time, from 4 x KOH UTV Championships, 3 x Short Course UTC Championships, 2 x GNCC UTV Championships, and we were the 2023 Ultra 4 Champions.
Sounds like a pretty impressive haul of accolades there, mate. What vehicle are you currently running?
Right now I’m in the Can-Am Maverick R, which is a pretty cool machine that is a dual-clutch, paddle shift 7-speed gearbox. This is a pretty new vehicle from the team there, so it’s pretty epic to be able to rip it around the race track.

And relating to the off-road side of things, tell us a bit about the features of that style of racing.
Well, off-road racing has been around forever, and really has to be seen in order to truly appreciate it. As a driver, concentration is key, which means that we need to focus on the job at hand when we’re behind the wheel. Any type of racing category is intense, although with the jumps and unpredictability of some surfaces, you definitely need to be locked in otherwise there can be consequences.
For sure, the jumps especially look pretty insane. So regarding cooling, why is this important in this form of racing?
From racing in the heat of Vegas in August to the humid summers in Wisconsin, cooling plays a huge part in the performance of my machines. As I mentioned earlier, as a driver we have enough to concentrate on behind the wheel, so the performance and reliability of our engines is crucial, to allow us to do our job properly.
The cooler we keep our engines, the more power they produce and the more reliable they are, and that’s why we partner with PWR because they provide us with the best products in the game.

We’re glad to hear we can help and keep your machines cool!
For sure. Since day one colling had been an issue for us in our racing. We push these machines to their limits, and after working with PWR, we can focus on other aspects of racing knowing that we’re equipped with the best.
Great to hear, Kyle - we appreciate the words! Well, thanks again for taking the time to chat with us, and we wish you the best for the remainder of the year.
All good, thanks again team.
