The Finke Desert Race, which takes place through the Red Centre of Australia, is renowned as one of the most gruelling off-road races in the world, putting the vehicles that line up to the ultimate test.
For Ford Performance, entering their Ranger Raptor in the production 4WD class came with one objective from the team at the blue oval; to conquer the desert and finish on the top step of the podium.
The team at PWR Advanced Cooling Technology share the same ethos and were up for the challenge. Given the extreme conditions and temperatures, cooling is pivotal to any kind of success in the desert, and our 87mm Elite Series Intercooler and Transmission Cooler provided the performance that was required to withstand the elements.
After the trip to and from Alice Springs, the Ford Ranger Raptor successfully conquered the desert and was the victor in the production 4WD class.
